Finance Project Manager - Permanent - Hybrid/London - London Market / General Insurance

A technology-driven Specialty Insurer is in search of a Project Manager to lead and execute finance and business projects within the company's change portfolio.

You will be joining an established Lloyd's/London Market Insurer during a period of substantial growth and play a pivotal role in contributing to their finance transformation. As an experienced Project Manager, you will be hands-on, taking a central role in delivering finance related projects. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels, showcasing proficiency in external partner management and communication, making you a valuable asset to the team.

Critical to the role is prior experience in managing end-to-end finance transformation projects/programs within a general insurer or Lloyd's/London market insurance organization. This includes a proven track record of successfully interfacing with finance departments and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of project scope, schedule, and deliverables
  • Collaborate closely with internal technical and non-technical stakeholders to grasp their needs and expectations
  • Produce, report, and maintain portfolio-level budgets and backlogs, ensuring alignment with the financial goals outlined
  • Demonstrate expertise in financial processes, ensuring seamless integration into project deliverables
  • Conduct financial due diligence, extract and analyse data from multiple sources, focusing on integration with insurance-related systems and meeting specific requirements
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of financial analysis, utilizing data to inform strategic decisions and optimizations
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, identifying workstreams, tasks, interdependencies, key milestones, and critical paths for delivery
  • Follow governance and reporting regimes aligned with agreed frameworks, providing transparent communication with finance-related teams

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as Project Manager in Lloyd's/London Market Insurance or general insurance
  • Experience in delivering complex finance & regulatory related projects
  • In depth knowledge of financial analysis & financial processes
  • Proven track-record in working within the full lifecycle of system implementation & enhancement projects
  • Qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or a related finance and accounting degree are advantageous
  • Experience in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid methodologies
  • Accounting qualification will be an advantage
  • Proven ability to influence & negotiate scope & finances
  • Strong relationship management skills across all levels of the business
