Finance Officer - Treasury (Part Time)

Working for the Newbury Building Society, we are committed to ensuring that we have a first class Risk team and are recruiting for a Financial Risk Officer. This could be on a Part Time (minimum 28hrs) or Full Time basis and you would be required to be in the office (Newbury centre) at least twice a week.
What will you be doing as the Financial Risk Officer?
The purpose of the role is to support the CRO to ensure the Society operates an effective approach to risk management related to liquidity, capital, treasury / finance and credit risk and ensuring that any potential issues /concerns are identified and addressed at an early stage. providing appropriate oversight, support, challenge and assurance of the first line, in particular partnering with the prudential risk areas (mainly Finance, Treasury and Underwriting)
Maintaining and operating a robust Risk Management Framework (RMF) and associated processes
Producing Risk MI to support the required level of understanding and management of risk across the business
You will be working collaboratively alongside the Risk Officer (Non-Financial Risk) and Compliance team to provide a responsive and proportionate approach to managing risk, identifying opportunities for improvements and greater efficiencies whilst remaining within risk appetite.
Key skills & experiences required of the Financial Risk Officer:
Financial Services experience
Academic background in Mathematics or Economics or similar highly numerate subject
Experience working within a prudential risk area or risk management role that has required partnering with / relationship building with prudential risk areas (e.g. Financial Risk / Prudential Risk role or Treasury or Finance function)
Strong Excel skills

They are based in the centre of Newbury and hybrid working expectations are a minimum of 2 days a week in the office. In return they offer a salary of up to £56k and a great benefits package. Flexible working arrangements down to a minimum of 28 hours (standard 35 hour week) will be considered.
