Job Introduction We are seeking an outstanding Finance professional with a proven operational background to become our Finance Manager at Ascot Racecourse. As Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Finance Manager in leading the financial operations and processes for all Ascot operations.
You will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis, as well as providing strategic business advice to the operational teams.
You will also be responsible for analysing financial data, identifying trends, and making recommendations to drive business growth and inform decision-making.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Senior Finance Manager in driving commercial analytics providing key commentary and variance analysis of monthly p&l & balance sheet movements
Supporting the Operational team in relation to costs / P&L
Establish effective relationships with operational heads of department to maximise influencing ability, ensure opera rational teams have a robust understanding of their financial responsibility
Support Department Heads and the business in Cost Management through careful planning pre raceday & key analytics post raceday
Assist in the production of accurate and timely management accounts with evidence to support variances in expected results
Assist in accurate, timely and frequent reporting of the financial performance of the contract
Ownership of timely & accurate billing across various segments including Fine Dining, Boxes
Ownership of timely & accurate journal postings of various expenditure across various segments including Fine Dining, Boxes, Agreed Price
Support Raceday events including pre race day planning, race day operational support & post raceday financial closure
Support SFM in the provision of robust forecasts and budgets ensuring information integrity and high quality and flexible analytical insight
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You will have extensive operational experience, the expertise to lead and assist the operational team with financial matters, and the confidence to challenge when necessary.
Knowledge of high-volume hospitality / restaurant / F&B environments would be desirable.
The ability to complete deliverables within deadline, budget, and beyond expected quality, is essential.
You will also have:
An accountancy qualification (or be part qualified working towards finishing studies)
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills with experience in management accounts and reporting developments
A good working knowledge of SAP or other primary accounting systems
Experience in operational and financial controls and continuous improvement
Strong interpersonal skills and leadership of team members
Strong influencing skills
