As the Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our client's research group. From identifying better treatments for major diseases to developing innovative community-led programmes, their work has the potential to transform healthcare globally.The Role:As the Finance Manager, you will provide financial support to our client's research group. Your responsibilities will include preparing financial reports for funders and management, assisting with grant applications, and collaborating with the Executive Director and Global CFO on financial strategies. You will also be responsible for budgeting and forecasting, managing overhead costs, and ensuring compliance with local finance requirements.Key Responsibilities:Develop and monitor short and long-term financial strategiesPrepare business plans, annual budgets, and reports on performanceCollaborate with the academic team to ensure financial sustainabilityLiaise with external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and lawyersProvide regular financial reports and projectionsIdentify areas for cost savings and initiate efficiency programmesEnsure compliance with tax and statutory requirementsSkills and Experience:Relevant university degree or progressing towards professional accounting qualificationsStrong management accounting skills and experience with computerised accounting systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelProactive and analytical mindset with excellent attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and collaborate with colleagues globallyKnowledge of the research grant ecosystem in the UK is desirableUnderstanding of UK payroll and pensions would be a plusJoin our client's dynamic team and contribute to their mission of improving global health.
