About Our Client Our client is a successful business in the utilities industry based in Dorchester who are looking for a Finance Manager to join their accountancy team working 1 day per week in the office.
Job Description Finance Manager (Dorchester)Responsibilities encompass:* Oversight and administration of the finance function, collaborating with internal teams, external finance partners* Generation of monthly and annual reports for the Management Board* Rigorous examination of financial reports and data to identify any discrepancies* Management of monthly management and statutory accounts* Handling working capital management and crafting cash flow forecasts* Supervision of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, VAT, expenses, and credit control* Maintenance of the fixed asset register* Ensuring accurate recording, filing, and reporting of all financial transactions* Upholding proper financial governance and managing financial risk* Collaboration with budget holders to establish robust budgets and forecasts, regularly reviewing for cost-reduction opportunities* Steering year-end closing activities, including audit coordination and communication with external accountants* Driving continuous improvement in end-to-end accounting practices to enhance efficiency and control
The Successful Applicant Essentials:* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)* A strong financial background with the ability to balance the needs and requirements of multiple stakeholders
