Job DescriptionMy local government Client is currently looking for an experienced Finance Manager for a permanent role based in North London.Up to £70,500 basic salaryLocation: Islington, LondonThe successful Finance Manager will manage the funding, development and delivery of a range of highways capital projects within the Borough. The projects will be managed from inception through community engagement and outline design phases, and to assist in the management of larger projects.Essential Experience required:Extensive Finance Management experience within local government.Able to understand the importance of high standards of design and the ability to ensure that such standards are attained in capital projects.Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people maintaining a professional manner in high pressure situationsAble to effectively plan and organise a wide and challenging workload.Able to explain complex information clearly to members of the public, staff and contractors.Able to use relevant information technology and computer software packages.Able to manage contractors and consultants in the preparation of design work for highways or other construction related projectsAble to work constructively in teams in a variety of roles to produce positive results and outcomes.Numerate and literate to levels commensurate with the post.Able to collect, understand and interpret financial and statistical information relating to projects and programmes.
