Job Title: Finance Manager

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Location: Welwyn Garden City

Contract: Full time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

COMPANY PROFILE

We have an exciting opening with our well-established client in the construction industry. They are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to play a pivotal role in overseeing the end-to-end finance operations of their organization. You will be responsible for managing financial planning and analysis, implementing procedures to enhance controls, and leading various ad-hoc projects.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical accounting knowledge, proficiency in Excel and Xero, and the ability to effectively delegate tasks and manage teams.

SKILLS REQUIRED


  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Fully qualified accountant or Qualified by Experience.
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively and manage the work of others to achieve organisational goals.
  • Prior experience in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Proficient Excel skills and experience with Xero
  • Strong communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Manage and oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collection of payments.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of balance sheet accounts
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external accountants and consultants.
  • Perform regular reconciliation of UK and foreign bank accounts, credit cards etc.
  • Implement and maintain job costing systems to track project expenses and budgets effectively.
  • Manage CIS compliance and reporting requirements for relevant construction projects.
  • Supervise the accounts payable function, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.
  • Prepare VAT returns

  • 28 days annual leave including bank holidays (3 of those days are reserved for the Christmas / New Year shut down).
