Finance Manager - Edinburgh
Based out of Edinburgh office (Leith) but with hybrid working pattern
Full time but reduced hours (either 3 or 4 full days per week) considered
CHASE is the UK’s leading independent provider of outsourced solutions to commercial and medical teams in the life sciences industry. Our solutions include customer engagement, NHS partnership working, recruitment and brand strategy & management. We also provide pharmacist-led clinical services into the NHS through Medacy; a CHASE company.
As the company has grown in size and complexity in recent years, in order to support the continued growth plan we are looking to recruit a talented, hands on and driven finance professional to join the business as Finance Manager.
The individual will join the finance and operations team of the core business, reporting into the CFO and supporting them in all aspects of the financial management of the company.
Given the nature of the business, there will be high level of exposure to senior management and the company’s investors as well as the opportunity to be actively and closely involved in any transactional matters.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting CFO in preparing key reports for stakeholders including multiple boards of directors, investors, customers, HMRC and lenders.
This includes but is not limited to:
Annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting
Timely preparation of monthly management accounts and reports for board packs
Analysis of profitability of business units and client projects
Annual financial statement and audit process
Quarterly VAT returns
Annual tax returns
Key candidate requirements:
Accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
Commercially astute, using your experience and knowledge to add value to the business and finance function
Strong technical accountancy skills - both management, statutory accounts and consolidation
Outstanding at analysis of data and excellent communicator of financial information to senior management and non-finance colleagues
Keen attention to detail but also with the ability to communicate the wider strategic picture to key stakeholders
Experience of excel modelling of budgets, forecasting and business opportunities
Able to build strong relationships with key business colleagues
Candidates must be comfortable working within a fast paced environment, dealing with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally. Crucially, the role is expected to evolve over time with increased opportunities for development – for example, responsibility and management opportunities.
A strong personality, excellent communication skills, proven leadership qualities and the ability to build solid relationships outside of finance are key for this role.
