Job DescriptionFinance Director (full time)Salary up to £80,000 + £6,000 Car allowance + 10% matched pension+ Hybrid working available after induction (min of 2-3 days in the office).+ closing date for this advert 12pm 8th April 24 A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a Finance Director to join an acclaimed and award-winning business that specialises in assisting West Midlands and Welsh small businesses that are looking to grow but struggling to access traditional financing. Along with a salary of up to £80,000 per annum, DOE, you will also receive a car allowance, 10% matched pension, and hybrid working (at least 2 days per week in the office).You will support and challenge the Chief Executive as part of the Senior Leadership Team in leading strategic priorities and contribute to Board discussions, as well as ensuring financial sustainability by managing resources effectively, evolving risk management, and leading the Finance and Recoveries Team. With support from external consultants and the wider team ensure that as the business grows it remains operationally robust, and working alongside the Portfolio and Compliance Manager ensure it continues to adhere to its regulatory responsibilities.As Finance Director, some of your key responsibilities will include:·Collaborating on strategy development with the Leadership Team.·Leading, mentoring, and developing finance and recoveries teams.·Overseeing performance reporting and enhancing governance standards.·Delivering timely financial reports for informed decision-making.·Overseeing budget preparation and forecasting, improving forecasting models.·Assisting in securing and managing funding streams.·Leading audit processes and ensuring compliance with regulations.·Leading short and medium-term operational projects.·Contributing to loan sanctioning and address default rate shifts promptly.We’re looking for a Finance Director with the following:·To be an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA Qualified Accountant, and possibly a graduate, currently serving in the role, or possibly as a Finance Controller, about to make a move upwards.·Experience operating at a strategic level and servicing enthusiastic, professional and experienced board.·Requisite skills, knowledge and attributes to deliver the responsibilities listed above·A strong customer focus and the ability to empathise with business customer frustrations; looking to actively find solutions to their problems.·Comfortability working with developing new funding streams, markets, products and services.Due to the nature of the business, the following will be ineligible to apply for this position:·Anyone who is the subject of an undischarged bankruptcy restrictions order or interim order.·Anyone who has been dismissed from paid employment within the last 2 years due to misconduct (without being re-instated) where that dismissal has not been the subject of a finding of unfair dismissal by a tribunal or court.·Anyone who is under a disqualification order under the Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986;·Someone who has been or is convicted of a serious criminal offence (in particular any offence involving dishonesty or any other in relation to promotion, formation, management or liquidation of a company). Anyone who is not capable of managing their own affairs.DBS (criminal record) and personal credit checks will be required. If these raise issues about suitability, they may be taken into account when deciding whether to confirm appointment.initial first interviews will be in the week commencing Monday 15th April and then second interviews on Wednesday 24 April and Friday 26 April.
