Detailed job description and main responsibilities What you'll do• Support the delivery of the Trust's financial targets and take day to day responsibility for the management and performance of the divisional Management Accounting team, ensuring the delivery of a professional, dynamic and proactive service.• You will oversee the preparation and delivery of the monthly management accounts for the division, working with a wide range of stakeholders• As a key member of the divisional board, you will provide clear, concise, and professional communication; supporting and developing financial models and scenarios for innovative new services and investments• You will work on highly complex and sensitive information, where collaboration and cooperation with service managers and clinicians are essentialWhat we're looking for• You will be a people-focused, fully qualified finance professional, with clear communication skills and experience in financial management and financial strategy• Working with a range of stakeholders, you will demonstrate a solid understanding of budgetary control processes, budget setting and financial planning, combined with a broad understanding of financial accounting and control issues• With a supportive and flexible team around you to deliver, you will be able to present and explain financial information in a timely manner that can easily be understood by non-finance managers and key system partners• You will demonstrate our UHS Values: Patients First, Always Improving, Working TogetherTO NOTE: Please note that we are recruiting for both a Finance Business Partner - Clinical Division and an R&D Senior Finance Manager post. Should you wish to apply for both roles, you are only required to complete one application (either post) and within that application state that you wish to be considered for both roles by writing this in the supporting information box.Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteriaCCAB qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, ACCA) with post qualification experience at a senior level.Current / recent experience in a finance management role.Desirable criteriaCurrent / recent knowledge and understanding of the NHS financial environment.Knowledge & ExperienceEssential criteriaKnowledge of designing and working with spreadsheets.Detailed understanding of budgetary control processes and budget setting / financial planning.Broad understanding of financial accounting and control issues.Understanding of financial information systems and the ability to extract relevant information.Advanced analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate the results of such analysis.Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing.Experience of Financial project management/Financial appraisal and forecasting.Attention to detail and use of forecasting and estimation skills.Previous experience of line managing staff.Desirable criteriaAbility to make use of systems (e.g., Excel, Word) to prepare and present accurate, clear information and reports.Experience of working within an NHS management accounts team.Previous experience of working with Oracle Finance systems.Record of improving processes and reporting in previous roles.Trust ValuesEssential criteriaPatients FirstAlways ImprovingWorking TogetherPlease be advised that this vacancy may close earlier than stated if we receive a large number of applications.
