Job DescriptionWood is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our finance team in Aberdeen, Scotland for a 12-month fixed term maternity cover. As the Finance Business Partner, you will:Business Partnering: Provide senior-level business and financial management expertise to Business Line operations and Finance leadership. Manages the roll-up of management reporting and budgets/forecasts for the Business Line and drives working capital improvements.Governance : Be accountable for producing accounts that are compliant with Wood policies and procedures, and are further compliant to IFRS. Ensure governance framework in place and adhered to across BL.People: Lead, coach, develop and performance manage teams.ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and guidance to Finance Lead to support management of wider Finance team. Potential for direct management responsibility.Work closely with Snr Accountants on BL contracts to understand results and forecasts, keep action logs and ensure actions are closed out in a timely manner.Attends all BL contract reviews to ensure that reported financials are appropriate.Produce a Consolidated Monthly Financial report pack which provides robust commentary to all variances across the Business Line. Report on the supplemental information required for month end reporting through EPM.Provide a balance of support and challenge to the Business Line Contract Managers/Operations Directors on all areas of financial performance including gross margin reviews, non-reimbursable spend, cash collections, forecasting assumptions etc.Review and challenge SGA spend and work with the Overhead accountant to accurately budget and forecast for direct and indirect overheads.Support the business by bringing actionable insights to line management and ensure follow-through on implementation.Actively monitor and drive improvement in DSO by providing support and challenge to the business in unbilled review sessions, monitoring Time to Bill metrics and holding billing team to account, and proactively monitoring AR / cash collections.Ensure forecasting accuracy and predictabilitythrough the rolling forecast vs monthly results process. Bring clarity on risks and opportunities to present forecasts.Responsible for the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for New Work including validation / challenge of the accuracy of backlog, inputs from BD (CRM Data) and Operations.Responsible for the consolidation and roll up of full Business Line budgets and forecasts for review. Provide support and challenge throughout the process to ensure forecasts are robust, accurate and predicable.Support the client bid process, providing costing information and input into sales pricing. Further provide input on financial terms obtaining input from commercial and contracts where appropriate along with input into the credit worthiness of the customer through the risk assessment process.Assisting the Snr Finance Manager in driving sustainable working capital improvements working with business line management, project managers, supply chain and other relevant areas.Work collaboratively and cohesively with other Finance Business Partners to:Ensure an effective control environment exists within the businessmaintain consistency within the function and promote best practice within the teamsupport the Finance Lead to adequately resource positions ensuring best fit for the business as well as individual developmentfocus on people development to train and develop junior staff, support those studying for exams and work on development plans for those looking to progress in the organisationdevelop and roll out annual communication planLead the Finance effort for any new contract start ups.Work with Operations identifying trigger points where tax input is needed and work with our colleagues in tax to find the most compliant and cost effective solution.Support IFCQ / Insurance renewals data collection exercises and action any findings.Identify profit generating initiatives and opportunities that improve financial outcomes.Assist and manage where appropriate internal, external and client audits as directed, ensuring accurate and timely information upon request.QualificationsQualifications:Fully qualified with relevant professional bodyKnowledge & Experience:An excellent level of accounting / business experienceExcellent commercial awarenessProven leader and people development experienceGood Systems experience - Preferably an ERP system, Oracle preferredProficient user of Excel, PowerPointCustomer focussed - internally and externallyAbility to discuss issues clearly and concisely at all levels within the organisationAbility to work in a matrix environment and proven record in business partneringJob-Specific Skills:Technical skills and experience to conduct and review various accounting tasksExcellent organisational and communication skills to lead teams and deliver results to deadlinesExcellent written communication skills for management report writingAbility to train others and provide technical information and supportExcellent problem solving skills with a focus on bringing solutions to the tableAbout UsWood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
