Finance Business Manager

My client is a growinginternational law firm specializing in litigation and disputeresolution, particularly in the insurance, reinsurance, and liabilityareas. They have offices spanning the globe and over 1000 employees,with headquarters in the City of London and several other offices inthe UK.They are now looking for a Finance Business Managerto join their London office.ResponsibilitiesBusiness partner to Senior Leadership and the Business Team Leadsacross the UK Commercial and Healthcare Divisions, providing financialguidance and insights to maximize profitability. It is essential tobuild credibility as a trusted advisor and that requires strongcommunication skills. To become the go to Finance person for theCommercial and Healthcare Divisions.Responsible forleading Annual Planning Process and Forecasting cycles for the UKTeams and Clients. Liaise with Global Financial Reporting Team on theOperating Expense budget process and with HR for headcount planning.Responsible for production and analysis of key commercialreporting. Insights on monthly performance including working capitalanalysis. This includes preparation of Finance Board.Reports, client level profitability analysis, case matter levelanalysis and headcount reports.Business partner with theUK Divisional leads for BD and HR for strategic and commercialdecision making, including resourcing and service delivery.Working across finance groups on all aspects of commercialinsights.Working with pricing team to ensure fair marketreturns for services provided.Working with business onbusinesses cases for proposed laterals or Mergers.Motivate, mentor and provide leadership to the finance team, settingand reviewing performance objectives on a regular basis.Monitor the workflow of the finance team and identify areas whereefficiencies of the functions can be improved.Be thefirst point of contact to troubleshoot and resolve Finance system userissues where applicable.Prepare profitability analysis ofclients and work with the Business Development Manager and Partners todevelop action plans to improve profitability.Candidate ProfileProfessional qualification inCommerce or Finance (ACA/CIMA preferred). Equivalent relevantqualifications and candidates with less than five years will beconsidered providing they can demonstrate the required competencies tocarry out the role effectively.A background withinProfessional Services (legal sector) would be preferable.International experience with alarge multi group practice is desirable but not essential.It is Career Legal’s policy, as amatter of courtesy, to respond to all applications within threeworking days.
