Post: Finance Assistant

Line Manager: Finance Manager

Hours of Work: 9am - 3pm (Monday - Friday) term time only

Salary: SCP 9 = £25,119 FTE.

Start Date: 15th April

End Date: Mid July

Finance

  • Purchase ledger including processing invoices and payment runs
  • Lead in the accurate recording and monitoring of VAT and aid in the timely production of any statutory returns
  • Month end procedures and reconciliations
  • Posting transactions and journals to the accounting system
  • Monitoring departmental budgets and liaising with budget holder
  • Cash management
  • Trip management
  • Assisting with debt management when necessary
  • To ensure the finance system is used effectively
  • Ensure value for money at all time
  • To process all purchase orders, invoices and credit card invoices
  • To ensure that suppliers are paid in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.

General
· Maintain confidentiality and follow General Data Protection Regulations at all times
· Attend relevant training as the need or opportunity arises
· Carry out all duties in a safe manner and in line with school policies and procedures
· Any other duties as required by the Principal or Finance Director that are commensurate with the grade for this post

To be considered for this role, we will need -

  • Proof of Right to Work, this could be your Passport or Birth Certificate.
  • A CV that covers 10 years of education or employment.
  • A fully enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to process one with us. (We will refund the cost of the DBS)
  • At least two years' experience of working in a Finance Team, including experience of credit control and dealing with suppliers' queries.
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent ICT skills, including MS Office, MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Good team player.
  • All members of staff are expected to be flexible in their approach.
