Mason – James is working with an exceptional construction company who is currently recruiting for an experienced finance accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month contract. My client can offer a competitive salary, immediate interview plus a great working environment.
Duties
- Responsible for the day-to-day financial activity, monthly finance board papers, cashflows, forecasts, VAT returns and Statutory
- Manage three direct/indirect reports and will be responsible for their development and progression.
- Ensure accounting procedures are followed, provide management with information to understand revenue and costs of the division, develop and maintain ad-hoc cost analysis and KPIs.
- Supporting and reporting to the Financial Controller
- Preparation of the strategic papers for monthly board meetings.
- Preparation of bank facility compliance
- Management of cash and cash flow forecasting
- Assist with the completion of the annual budget.
- Preparation of statutory year-end accounts
- Preparation of year end audit packs and liaising with auditors
- Monthly consolidations
- Managing one assistant accountant and two indirect reports.
- Quarterly P&L forecasting
- Monthly CIS and VAT returns
- Assist in wider ad hoc projects as required.
- Provide support to the Head of Finance.
Extra bits
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with at least 2 years post qualification experience, preferably in industry.
- Strong MS excel skills.
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Inquisitive mindset and outlook, with the ability to be a self-starter.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
- The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business.
- Demonstrate a professional approach to the working environment.
- Commercial awareness and analytical skills
- Ability to work with enthusiasm and drive whilst communicating effectively with colleagues at all levels
- Confident in dealing with IT systems, strong mathematical skills, and high level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, with the ability and patience to train others to a basic level.
- Experience with COINS software desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of the construction/property industry desirable but not essential.
