Alecto Recruitment is working with our client to find a Mechanical Engineer to work in a field service role on national coverage of abattoirs.

You will be provided with a company vehicle and will be paid the mileage you cover.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with our client's team of technicians to ensure product quality meets standards set by our internal procedures, as well as regulatory requirements from local authorities and government agencies (such as DEFRA, FEMAS, FSSC).
• Address complaints received from suppliers promptly and follow through on internal concerns, communicating outcomes to the relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct thorough investigations and implement corrective actions for all complaints at each site, reporting findings to the Senior Blood Technician.
• Keep both our clients and suppliers informed about any internal or external issues that may arise.
• Attend quality meetings as necessary with the Senior Blood Technician, our client's Operations Manager, and the Quality Team.
• Perform risk assessments for engineering tasks and duties at each site.
• Assist in developing written Risk Assessments and Safe Working Procedures specific to each site under your responsibility.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks according to schedules and frequencies outlined in the Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Requirements

• Hold a full UK Driving Licence.
• Good level of education.
• Have a good understanding of TIG welding techniques and practices.
• Able to carry out the fabrication and installation process.
• Previous mechanical / engineering experience within a continuous process/manufacturing environment.
• Have TIG welding and fabrication/installation experience.
• Be accurate and great attention to detail.
• To be able to travel and work away from home when required.
• To be able to work on your own or as part of a team.
• To be flexible as the business needs demand.
