My client has a fantastic opportunity available for a Field service engineer to join their award-winning, problem-solving, forward-thinking family business
The Opportunity
To join a rapidly expanding owner managed business with a clear vision for future growth delivering exceptional customer service through quality products, services and employee well being.
The engineering department delivers exceptional customer service on a daily basis and has the most customer contact of any department in the business. Therefore your day-to-day contribution will be instrumental in driving continual improvements and in cementing our brand’s position as the leader of our industry.
Although a demand driven role occasionally requiring the need to be able to deviate from a planned schedule, you are backed up by a wider team of service and spares planners to help maintain as much pro-activity as possible to keep excess travel and overnight stays to a minimum and spread evenly across the team.

Responsibilities
• Having the ability to liaise with both customers and colleagues to ensure you maintain the customer service excellence that we pride ourselves on.
• servicing, maintaining, and installing a range of equipment at customers sites nationwide.
• Attend customers site in a timely manner to carry out the task assigned and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Respond to customer demand promptly and professionally working autonomously as well as part of a wider team.
• Typical hours are around 40-45 but does vary as a demand driven role. Care is pro- actively taken to avoid excessive hours where possible.
• Install new machines and provide full operator training individually and as part of a team.
• Communicate effectively to liaise with:
o Customers both on site and to help to diagnose problems over the phone.
o The engineering and admin team The sales team.
• Participation in training courses, as and when required.
• This post does involve regular travel and overnight stays at occasionally short notice, as required.
Required skills:
The minimum skills and qualifications required for this role include:
• Recognised electrical engineering qualification.
• Field engineering experience is essential.
• PLC interrogation experience is essential. In particular Siemens S7/TIA & OMRON (willing to put the right candidate through training for this)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a team player.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Polite telephone manner.
• Self-Motivation with the ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
• The ability to provide a digital job report on completion of a daily task using excellent English/Grammar.
Location and Package
Ideally the successful candidate would live no more than one hour from our HQ in Brighouse although this is not set in stone dependent on the right candidate. Skill set is more important.
• This is a salaried position with a company wide annual discretional bonus scheme.
• Guaranteed annual review.
• Contributory pension scheme currently to 3% of salary.
• 20 days annual leave plus all bank holidays (8) and an annual Christmas shutdown period typically from 21st / 22nd December to 2nd / 3rd January.
• A quality company vehicle (not a van but tax efficient) is provided which is fully expensed for personal use also.
• Any specialised tools required to do the job in hand.
• Fully expensed mobile phone for professional and personal use.
• An iPad is provided for service reports but can be used for personal use also.
• Generous expense policy with much discretion given as to where to stay if staying away and meals and drinks in the evening. It is important our people are well looked after with good hotels and food.
• We provide a number of paid for social events throughout the year.
