We are proud to be supporting the water purification division of this Global Company with sourcing a new member of the Service Team.

The Field Service Engineer will cover the Midlands area including: Leicester, Coventry Northamptonshire.

The role is paying a salary between 33 and 35K with a wide range of benefits. 

This will predominantly be a Monday to Friday role.  However, there will be a requirement to work some weekends if there is an urgent job and also to cover out of hours on call for emergency work.  This is based on a rota system.  Sometimes there may be the need to travel further afield with an overnight stay. A Company vehicle with fuel card is provided.

The Role 

For this position you will need to be an experienced Service Engineer and have hands on repair and maintenance background in water purification or pumps, valves and piping.

As the Field Service Engineer you will work independently and as part of a team to cover customer sites across the North West of the UK and to ensure that each site is running smoothly.

You will undertake the scheduled servicing and one off planned services of Water Treatment equipment that are outside of contract. You will be responsible for the repair of customer equipment, or replacement when a repair is not viable.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

What you will be doing day to day:


  • Confirm technical and contractual scoping on site matches assigned work.
  • Undertake planned and unplanned service activity
  • Perform routine maintenance work including chemical sanitisation when required.
  • Minimise customer down time by effectively planning and executing the work
  • Deliver and install new equipment (parts)
  • Test and commission all work prior to leaving the work-site
  • Explain and demonstrate correct use of equipment if necessary
  • Ensure Customer sign-off of work prior to leaving site
  • Report activity on tablet
  • Promote Service contracts where necessary and report back new opportunities to line manager
  • Maintain spare parts car stock and up to date records of parts held/used
  • Keep all tools in good condition

To be successful in this role you will need the following:


  • Previous Equipment Service experience in an Electro-mechanical environment, ideally in the water treatment sector.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Logical and well organized
  • Able to work alone with minimum supervision
  • Full UK driving licence
