Field Engineer - Cambridgeshire - Scientific instrumentation - £40,000 - £50,000
A client of nGeniums are seeking a dynamic and experienced Field Engineer to join thier team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrably strong experience supporting scientific instrumentation in field environments, preferably internationally. You will bring at least three years of experience in the industry post-graduation. This role involves extensive travel, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving in various field environments. This role will be based out of our laboratories in Cambridgeshire.
Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site assessments and inspections of systems and equipment
Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and objectives
Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise (electronic, software and mechanical systems) during installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities
Perform field tests and experiments to validate design performance and functionality
Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and drawings to communicate findings and recommendations effectively
Liaise with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to coordinate project activities and resolve technical issues
Develop field engineering processes and methodologies to optimise the efficiency and quality of deliverables
Work to appropriate guidelines and legislation as necessary
Potential to develop their own team of support personnel.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering, geology, geophysics or relevant experimental physics experience discipline.
Minimum of three years of relevant experience preferably in a field-based role
Willingness and ability to travel extensively to project sites, both domestically and internationally (including long-haul), as required
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences
Adaptability to work independently or as part of a team, with a proactive and results-driven attitude
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure in diverse field environments
Experience with project management tools and methodologies is a plus.
