Job DescriptionThe Field Engineer plays a vital role in supporting network assurance and repair tasks, encompassing both customer connections and broader network infrastructure. Cisco, GPON/Adtran experience is essential for this role. Responsibilities include assisting with customer connection installations, network expansion initiatives, and active network maintenance. Additionally, the Field Engineer acts as the primary point of contact for fault location and network performance assessments, collaborating closely with operational teams to ensure timely and quality resolutions. Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation to address network faults and repairs is also required.Key Responsibilities:Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) on the network.Collaborate with the Incident Operations Center (IOC) to coordinate and execute repairs, providing regular updates on progress.Assist with customer connection setups and network expansion projects as needed.Conduct on-site visits to customer premises for repair or provisioning activities.Work collaboratively with various teams (e.g., provisioning, contractors) to optimize overall service delivery.Maintain proficiency in the use of testing equipment and escalate technical challenges appropriately.Update network records upon completion of tasks and follow job instructions diligently.Adhere to security protocols regarding access to customer information and comply with physical security requirements during site visits.Additional Job Description: In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities, the Field Engineer is expected to:Prioritize safety, adhering to all health and safety procedures and promoting a zero-accident culture.Demonstrate awareness of sustainability policies and integrate relevant aspects into work practices.Complete mandatory compliance training within designated timeframes.Install and manage switch and router infrastructures, including stock/material management.Perform optical fiber splicing, testing, and commissioning of circuits.Install and commission active equipment at customer premises and Points of Presence (PoPs) under supervision.Oversee delivery partners in optical fiber installation and testing, including third-party duct work.Conduct vehicle checks in line with company policies.Experience with Cisco configuration.About You: Successful candidates will possess:Strong communication skills for interactions with customers and colleagues.Self-motivation and a drive to succeed individually and within a team.A valid driver's license and the ability to drive safely.Experience with test rod and rope operations, civils, cabling, splicing, and testing, preferably in field-based roles.Working at height experience and relevant training.Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight SLAs.Proficiency in producing high-quality survey and site visit reports.Familiarity with telecoms installation and testing equipment, as well as hand power tools.Experience with Cisco configuration.Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to address technical issues and provide insights for improvement.Key Performance Drivers:Prioritizing customer satisfaction.Excelling through effective teamwork.Delivering tangible results.Adapting to changing environments.Making a meaningful impact personally and professionally.
