We are looking for a FCA Compliance Manager who can help us deliver our mission to make it seamless for individuals and businesses to transition to zero-carbon driving.
Joining a growing function, you will work alongside another Manager reporting into the Head of Risk and Compliance. You will be responsible for delivering the risk and compliance team goals which includes work to establish and evolve the function as well as delivering comprehensive and tailored risk and compliance advice and detailed assurance reviews.
The role requires an experienced risk and compliance professional with a solid understanding of the FCA regime and financial services legislation, including in relation to financial crime. A consumer hire, consumer credit and insurance distribution background is preferred, but candidates will be considered from any financial services background. Experience in risk management, as part of a Risk and Compliance function, is also desirable.
In addition, the role requires someone who is comfortable feeding into and delivering against a plan, working both independently and as part of a team, as well as someone detail focused and capable of building good working relationships as part of a second line function, in a business that is rapidly scaling. This is a fast paced environment and one allowing lots of opportunity for growth, training and development.
The role is hybrid and you’ll be expected in the London office at least 1 day a week, with occasional trips required to other regional offices (currently Weybridge and Brighton). What you'll do...Collaborating on, delivering and continually strengthening our risk and compliance strategy and frameworkLeading and reporting on our risk and compliance monitoring and advisory programs including delivering monitoring reviewsOverseeing annual fit and proper assessments under the FCA’s SM&CRProducing timely and accurate risk and compliance management information - presenting that information to the business, leadership team and where necessary, the BoardEnsuring that our governance framework evolves alongside the business and that we have appropriate and up-to-date policies, processes and internal reportingEnsuring that all FCA reporting requirements and communications are handled appropriately and promptly. This includes completing reporting in Reg Data and supporting applications on the FCA Connect platformKeeping abreast of regulatory requirements and changes, and ensuring that the firm’s horizon scanning and regulatory change programme is forward lookingDelivering risk and compliance training to the business and overseeing the risk and compliance mandatory training programmeBeing a key point of contact for the business on all risk and compliance matters and deputising for the Head of Department as requiredBuilding strong, collaborative relationships with other oversight functions, not just in Electric Vehicles, but across the Octopus GroupWhat you'll need...4+ years experience within a FCA regulated risk and compliance functionA love of building customer centric products and services Experience in implementing the FCA Consumer Duty Rules and wider regulatory changeA strong understanding of the FCA’s SM&CR and the DISP, PROD, PRIN, COCON and SYSC handbooks, alongside a strong understanding of the FCA’s expectations in relation to vulnerable customersWorking knowledge of financial crime requirements, FCA regulations and JMLSGPrevious experience of providing both compliance advice and delivering compliance monitoring workExcellent written and presentation skills, alongside a keen eye for detailStrong stakeholder management and the ability to tailor information to the audienceStrong change and project management skills, including the ability to manage time well, prioritise effectively and handle multiple deadlines whilst working with (and directing) hybrid teamsAbility to problem solve and to suggest and implement solutionsAbility to collaborate with diverse teams across the businessA passion for personal development and for driving better ways of working. You’ll need to get stuck into a variety of areas as we build and evolve the functionIn addition, the following are desirable: -A strong working knowledge of the FCA regulations for consumer hire, consumer credit and insurance distribution
