Role -  Farm Assistant Manager

Location - Newark

Working hours - 48 hours over 6 days

Contract - Permanent position

Salary - £30,052 per annum

Our client, a family-run hatching company, is currently looking for experienced assistant farm managers to join our team.

As a hiring Assistant Farm Manager you will support the Farm Manager in ensuring the highest standards of stock production. The role involves overseeing bird welfare, managing farm conditions, and supervising employees and contractors .

We are looking for individuals with a strong background in stock management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A flexible approach is required, as the role involves weekend work and early morning/late evening shifts.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Farm  Manager:

- Manage the farms to ensure that bird welfare is never compromised.

- Manage and monitor ventilation, heating, feed, water, litter, and lighting within the

agreed standards, ensuring the highest quality conditions are provided for the birds.

- Communicate with the Farm Manager ensuring that information is provided promptly  and accurately.

- Ensure weekly paperwork is accurately recorded and is sent on time to the relevant  Accounts or Planning Department.

- Cover the alarm as required ensuring it is operational and any faults rectified immediately.

- Ensure that Site is maintained in clean, tidy, and presentable manner.

- Ensure that the Company Health & Safety Policy is adhered to at all times.

- Ensure that all Codes of Practice are adhered to at all times.

- Flexible approach will be necessary as this role will necessitate working at weekends  with some early morning and late evening work.

- Provide holiday / sickness cover for Line Manager as required.

Skills and experience sought:


      Strong organizational and time management skills.


Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Stock management background

Ability to manage Employees.
