Responsibilities
RODMAN PEARCE SOLICITORS are looking for a supervisor to oversee its legal aid works in children law and family law.
The applicant is expected to have adequate experience and The Law Society accreditation to supervise the legal aid works under children and family laws. Supervisor may now supervise in more than one category of law and more than one office. Flexible-remote working is acceptable.
The position is full-time and permanent with good competitive remunerations.
Qualifications
FAMILY LAW PANEL MEMBER
Legal Knowledge: A strong understanding of family law statutes, regulations, and precedents is fundamental
Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with clients, opposing counsel, and presenting cases in court
Empathy: Family lawyers often deal with emotionally charged situations, so the ability to empathize with clients and understand their unique challenges is crucial
Drafting & Negotiation Skills: Strong drafting and negotiating settlements and agreements outside of court is a common part of family law practice
Mediation Skills: Many family law cases involve mediation, so the ability to facilitate productive discussions and agreements between parties is important
Problem-Solving: Family lawyers must be adept at analysing complex family dynamics and finding practical solutions to their clients' issues
Research Proficiency: Strong research skills are needed to gather evidence, relevant information, evaluate and assess case law, and build compelling arguments
Client Management: Family lawyers must be able to work with people of all ages such as children and the elderly, manage client expectations and maintain trust and confidentiality
Courtroom Skills: If cases go to court, family lawyers need to be skilled litigators, including presenting evidence, examining witnesses, and making persuasive legal arguments
Financial Acumen: Understanding financial documents and assets, especially in divorce cases, is essential for equitable property division
Child Advocacy: When children are involved, family lawyers need to be able to advocate for their best interests
Cultural Sensitivity: Sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds and family structures is important when working with clients
Ethical Judgment: Family lawyers must uphold ethical standards while practicing family law
