Job Title: Train Presentation Operative (Cleaner)

Rate of pay: �12.90ph

Location: York - Leeman Road

Start date: ASAP

Shift pattern: NIGHTS 20:00 start till 05:00 / 4 on 4 off shift pattern

Duration: 6 months Temp initially

Adecco have an exciting new opportunity to work as Train Presentation Cleaning Operator with an well known organisation in Manchester Ardwick. You will be working within a supporting team who, be provided training and be effective in the efficient servicing of facility and cleaning duties at the depot. The ideal individual would have confident ability to work as part of a collaborative team, be open to training and able to safely commit to the working night shift pattern.

Key Skills & Overview:

  • Cleaning trains
  • No prior experience required - open to anyone
  • needs to have good communication skills (can understand and speak basic English)
  • will be working in groups of 3/4
  • Performs basic tasks related to facility services in this case train cleaning care
  • on feet majority of shift but given breaks throughout shift
  • Induction & training provided including Site induction, H&S, behavioural expectations

Purpose of Role

To clean rolling stock berthed at Siemens Mobility depots or agreed locations.

Principal Accountabilities

  • With minimal supervision undertake the cleaning of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan, complying with all local instructions and specifications
  • Under take external cleaning of the train by manual methods
  • Undertake specific cleaning of driveline systems by means of brushing or compressed air
  • Fuelling, tanking and Controlled Emission Toilet (CET) operation, when required
  • Assist other team members where appropriate
  • Report all defects to Supervisor
  • Underframe cleaning - site specific
  • Undertake any other duties as and when required

Knowledge & Experience

  • Full training provided
  • Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and manual handling is beneficial though full induction is provided
  • Good communication skills both oral and written
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment and relevant chemicals
