Main purpose of the role:
To provide day to day support with all aspects of company Facilities, both in reactive and preventative capacities.
To implement and develop company-wide Facilities procedures, along with responsibilities for general Health and Safety of the company estate.
To advise staff on all aspects of Facilities related works and oversee infrastructure and services work for in-house and contractor-based projects.
Schedule and organise any maintenance/improvement requirements to Helixs facilites

Key responsibilities:
Be first point of contact for Facilities related enquires.
Provide daily monitoring and response to Facilities related helpdesk tickets.
Be the primary key holder and first point of contact for security and fire services.
Carry out an intensive programme of planned preventive maintenance for all company buildings and utilities. Record electronically the maintenance history and use it to determine a forward-looking maintenance schedule.
Carry out routine maintenance on all machinery and equipment that falls under the remit of the Facilities Department, to include fault finding, problem solving and minor repairs to minimise down time.
Full, accurate and timely completion of all maintenance logs, schedules, etc. to comply with Health and Safety legislation, company insurance and ISO requirements, etc.
Engage external contractors as required, inducting them to site in accordance with our policy on Management of Contractors. Monitor and accompany them as required while on site. Ensure satisfactory completion of the work before signing contractors out.
As part of a TPM approach, identify equipment critical to operations and particularly where a single point failure exists. Mitigate where possible via a good maintenance schedule, and ensure suitable spares are kept for commonly used parts or those with a long lead time.
Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly health and safety checks, inspections and take timely corrective action. Report problems and/or unsafe practices to relevant Manager, Supervisor and Health and Safety Officer, together with any recommendations for improvements.
Carry out all minor mechanical & electrical repairs in relation to buildings and utilities, planned and executed in such a way to minimise risk or inconvenience to others.
Carry out/organise modifications to desks, work benches and new equipment as required.
Ensure regulatory and quality procedures relating to maintenance are followed e.g., Insurance inspections, servicing of equipment etc.
Minor troubleshooting & maintenance for office equipment if required.
Review processes, procedures, systems, paperwork, etc. in own area, and make suggestions for
improvement.
Communicate process changes to relevant parties in order that relevant follow up may be carried out, e.g., training of locking up procedure.
Ensure full and timely reporting of all infrastructure breakdowns, significant problems, repair requirements, delays, or loss of services to relevant personnel.
Liaise with contractors and suppliers as necessary to clarify technical details and overcome problems.
Monitor levels of cleanliness and tidiness, both internal and external, across the company estate.
Support the Facilities, HSE Officer and Environmental officcer if /when needed with day-to-day activities for all sites, including audits and provided holiday cover, as required.
Any other tasks that are reasonably assigned to you by your line manager, including development activities, which are within your capability and grade

Required Education and Industry Experience:
Planned Preventative Maintenance
Fault finding
Good planning and organisational skills
Ability to multi-task
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing workloads
Clear communication skills

Education and Industry Experience:
Forklift Truck Licence
NEBOSH (General Certificate) qualified or IOSH qualified and working towards NEBOSH.
COSHH Trained
Level 3 Electrical Certificate or beyond.
