The Facilities Manager will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of facility operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and productive environment for yard activities. This role requires strong leadership, organisational, and technical skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Develops and implements plans to maintain and/or enhance yard facilities for the changing needs of future work, managing obsolescence and improving availability, reliability and maintainability of equipmentFacility Management:Be the subject-matter expert on facilities management and provision to deliver the current and future facility requirements required by the general manager.Oversee the day-to-day operations of the yard facilities, including maintenance, safety protocols, and security measures.Implement best practices for facility maintenance, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.Coordinate with maintenance staff to schedule and prioritize repairs and upgrades to facility infrastructure and equipment.Safety and Compliance:Develop and enforce safety procedures and protocols to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment.Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory agencies and industry standards, including HSE NI, DAERA/Environment Agency and maritime safety regulations.Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions as needed.Resource Management:Manage the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize efficiency and productivity.Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of necessary materials and supplies for repair projects.Monitor budgetary constraints and implement cost-effective strategies to maximize operational efficiency.Project Coordination:Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to coordinate repair projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.Track project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, addressing any issues or challenges that may arise.Facilitate communication and collaboration between different departments involved in repair projects, fostering a cohesive and cooperative work environment.Provide leadership and guidance to facility staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for training and development to enhance staff competencies.Promote a positive work environment that emphasises safety, professionalism, and quality craftsmanship.Lead by example as a key member of the Yard Leadership Team exhibiting the company values and appropriate behaviours.Liaise and interface with Clients, suppliers and other third parties in relation to systems operations, including hosting audits and assessments relevant to Projects and other certifications.Ensure suppliers and sub-contractors are audited on a risk basis, in compliance with the requirements of the standards and the Company’s systems.QualificationsSuccessful completion secondary level education.Engineering qualification at Level 3 or higher OR equivalent demonstrable experience (essential)H&S Qualification at Level 2 eg IOSH Managing Safely (desirable).ISO 9001, 14001 and/or ISO 45001 internal auditor experience (desirable)Strong problem-solving skills.Facilities Management visionary / leaderAdditional InformationCompany pensionPaid holidaysLife AssuranceL&D opportunitiesIf you experience difficulties or are unable to apply for a role on-line please contact us at ##### and one of the team will be in contact to help you.
