The Opportunity:Recently recognised in the 2024 Sunday Times Best Companies to work for, if you want to join an exciting and expanding insurance business, with an energised leadership team and a top-flight tech platform, revolutionising the way DUA business is transacted through the Lloyd’s and London market, then read on.We are searching for our first Exposure Manager to establish our CAT Modelling and Exposure Management function to support our growing team and business.This opportunity will entail establishing processes and building new tools. This is an innovative and forward thinking team, within which the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across multiple lines of business including Cat and Non-Cat.You will play an integral part in defining the view of risk and work alongside our Underwriters, Pricing team, and the executive team to help us deliver robust analytics to achieve a highly profitable and optimised portfolio.The Role: Establish
syndicate exposure management and catastrophe modelling function Work
with our technology team to automate our exposure management processes
including building links between our Graphene platform and our cat
modelling processes Work
with the underwriters to ensure models are configured as accurately as
possible and support the teams by providing regular exposure reports and
guidance on to enable them to make informed underwriting decisions Run
cat models – as part of ad hoc pricing and regular Lloyd’s reporting Work
with the Asta Exposure Management team to ensure all our risk appetite in
line with Asta oversight Develop
and justify Carbon’s view of risk
The
role will be cat modelling focussed to start but will cover all Exposure Management
including non-cat Produce regulatory exposure
management reports and ensure submission requirements and deadlines are
met Ensure
catastrophe exposure is well understood, measured and clearly communicated
across the business Providing ‘real time’ roll
up of aggregate positions to support underwriting decisions
Required Education/Training & ExperienceCat
modelling experience – at least 5 years using AIR and/or RMS Technical
understanding of how models are built/run Wider
exposure management expertise.
Strong Maths/statistical
background with a degree in a mathematically based science. like
Good
communicator Desirable Education/Training & Experience Leading
and managing others Model
validation experience Coding knowledge
and understanding of vendor model APIs Atmospheric
Physics, Geophysics degree Location:
London office and home – 3 days in the office per week
