Our client is seeking someone for a 6 month FTC, to join a small team of 5 who have a mix of actuarial/exposure/data experience.-The role is to work on an annual project collecting data from clients. This large data regarding UK Commercial Property exposures, needs to go through a rigorous process of data scrubbing.-The data is submitted by clients in the form of an Excel tool with 5000 lines of VBA code behind it, it will be your responsibility to go into the code and make corrections. The data is too large to fit into a spreadsheet and will needs to be transposed into SQL.-You would be performing tasks such as checking the postcodes and addresses are correct, and that the risk figures stated match what is expected.-The candidate may also be able to get involved in running the data through the Catastrophe models, but you will not need to do any coding of the models. You may also be able to get involved in developing tools to automate some of these manual processes.-The successful incumbent should therefore have prior VBA and SQL experience – to be able to write queries that filter and do the multiplication, summarise by group - although lots of the routines are already written. You should also have excellent communication skills as you will be liaising with clients and following strict procedure on the protocol of communication with clients.The working pattern is in 3 days a week with flexible working hours around a core 8 hour day. The salary will be pro rata for the 6 months and you will be eligible for usual company benefits
