Position Overview: As an Experienced Construction Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in our procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services essential for our projects in Devon and Somerset. You will collaborate closely with project managers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to streamline purchasing operations, maintain inventory levels, and uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms for materials and services required for construction projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness of materials.
  • Analyze project specifications and requirements to identify optimal procurement strategies and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions to mitigate risks and optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other departments to forecast material needs, manage inventory levels, and prevent shortages or delays.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and company policies throughout the procurement process.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement activities, including cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory management.
