Your Role This is a challenging but rewarding role providing executive assistant support to the Chair, Chief Executive and Senior Manager – Chief Executive’s Office. The Chief Executive’s Office provides essential, high-level support to the Chair, Chief Executive and Executive Team to ensure they can carry out their roles effectively for the benefit of staff, volunteers, donors and supporters. Working with these individuals and groups, the Chief Executive’s Office drives the strategic delivery of the RNLI’s Six Outcomes and Objectives outlined in Our Watch and oversees the Chair and Chief Executive’s engagement with internal and external stakeholders to deliver our purpose. This is an exciting time to join the Chief Executive’s Office as the RNLI welcomes a new Chief Executive from 26 June. The successful candidate will:
Oversee the day-to day running of the Chief Executive’s Office, undertaking the management and co-ordination of administrative requirements for the Chair and Chief Executive and providing support to the Senior Manager – Chief Executive’s Office.
Work alongside the Director Executive Assistants as to ensure open and effective communication and seamless support across the Executive Team.
Be confident in decision making, co-ordinating and sometimes leading with delegated authority on projects and significant pieces of work. You will be part of a broad range of strategic focused meetings making sure that they are all delivered as required, escalating issues and actions as required.
Be able to hit the ground running with proven experience in a similar role.
About You We are looking for an individual keen to develop, with outstanding written and oral communication skills and a commitment to delivering first-class service, as you will be working within a pressurised and fast-moving environment. Our ideal candidate will have:
Credibility and the confidence to act as an ambassador and to represent the Chair and Chief Executive both internally and externally. Outstanding written and oral communication skills are critical, as this role will involve the co-ordination and drafting of first-time right communications on behalf of the Chair and Chief Executive, such as reports, letters, emails, press releases, speech scripts and recognition. Developing influencing and negotiating skills, as you will be liaising externally with senior representatives, and internally, working closely with Senior Management Teams, the Executive Team, Trustees and Council members, staff and volunteers.
This role, whilst 37 hours per week, will require flexible working across all 7 days of the week; it is expected there will be a degree of weekend and evening work. There is the opportunity for hybrid working between home and the office in Poole, with a requirement to work in the office 2-3 days per week, and sometimes more depending on requirements of the role in that particular week.
