Job Description
Superstadium Management Company Ltd (SMC) have a new opening for an Event Safety & Security Manager, working across sites including the MKM Stadium, Football Training Ground and Training Academy at Bishop Burton College.Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Event Safety & Security Manager will be responsible for the planning and coordination of events from a safety perspective. This includes matchday safety as the Ground Safety Officer.Location: MKM Stadium, Hull (to include travel when required to other local office locations)Salary: Dependent upon experienceType: Full time, permanentClosing date: Friday 3rd May 2024Your key responsibilities• Line manage the Stewarding and Security teams, including full, part-time and casual members of the team. Ensuring training and appraisals are completed in line with Company policy.• Lead on the planning, implementation and monitoring of all SMC events at the MKM Stadium, ensuring that the management and operation of those events is fully compliant with national legislation and with the guidelines set down by the Sports Grounds Safety Authority (SGSA).• Responsible for managing the ‘S’ and ‘P’ safety factor risk assessments for the stadium, recommending adjustments to the relevant risk assessments where applicable.• Carry out relevant checks and assessments as required by the SGSA Green Guide, of physical infrastructure relating to matchday operations.• Lead pre-match briefings and post-match debriefs, producing associating documents and submitting summaries to the Head of Operations.• Perform the role of lead Ground Safety Officer (GSO) during match days the Deputy Safety Officers (DSO), planning the resources required for all events at the MKM Stadium.• Take the lead in key relationships with the local Safety Advisory Group (SAG) and relevant officers from Hull City Council, Humberside Police, the Humberside Fire & Rescue Service, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and other partner organisations.• Ensure that the stadium is fit for purpose and fully compliant with all Health & Safety legislation for the staging of all events on the premises, in accordance with the General Safety Certificate.• Work with the Facilities Manager in planning the work undertaken by external contractors in preparation for and subsequent to all Local Authority, Safety at Sports Grounds, Police, Fire Authority safety and buildings inspections, ensuring strict compliance with all Spectator Safety and other related legislation.• Manage relationships with partner organisations in relation to organisation and management of all SMC events, including the provision of stewarding, ensuring provision of services meets a consistently high standard.• Ensure that appropriate and robust Risk Assessments have been carried out prior to all events/activities staged at the Stadium, as required by the Green Guide.• Take ownership of the operations manuals, policies, procedures and documents relating to matchday operations and security.• Manage matchday safety by exercising the right to ban offenders and/or educate them with restorative justice, acceptable behavior agreements or any combination of these sanctions.• Deal with match day complaints relating to safety, stewarding or related matters as necessary.• Represent SMC at the Football Safety Officer Association.
