EV Mechanic Trainer (Levels 1-4)
Our Electric Car Servicing Centre in Central London is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable EV Mechanic Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the skills and expertise to train students at Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 in electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for Levels 1-4 electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance and repair
• Provide theoretical and practical instruction on high voltage electrical systems, diagnostic techniques, and safety procedures
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and skill levels
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessments
• Collaborate with other instructors and management to ensure a high-quality training experience
• Stay current with the latest electric vehicle technologies and industry best practices
• Assist in the development and updating of course materials and curriculum
Requirements:
• IMI Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Components (VRQ) or equivalent
• Extensive hands-on experience working with electric and hybrid vehicles
• Proven experience in delivering technical training, preferably in the automotive industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Proficiency in using various teaching aids and technologies
• Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success
• Valid driver's license
The EV Mechanic Trainer will be responsible for delivering training at the following levels:
Level 1:
IMI Level 1 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Awareness
This level provides a basic understanding of electric and hybrid vehicle technology, safety considerations, and the potential hazards associated with high voltage systems. Learners will gain a foundation for further training.
Level 2:
IMI Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities
Building on Level 1, this level focuses on routine maintenance activities for electric and hybrid vehicles. Learners will develop practical skills in safely isolating and reinstating high voltage systems and performing basic servicing tasks.
Level 3:
IMI Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement
At this level, learners will gain the knowledge and skills needed to diagnose, repair, and replace high voltage electrical components and systems. They will learn to work with a range of electric and hybrid vehicles, using advanced diagnostic equipment and techniques.
Level 4:
IMI Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Components (VRQ)
The highest level of training, Level 4 equips learners with the expertise to diagnose complex faults in electric and hybrid vehicle systems, safely isolate and reinstate high voltage components, and perform advanced repairs. Learners will develop a deep understanding of electrical principles and cutting-edge diagnostic techniques.
