Estimator - Structural steel

Location: Devon / Loughborough / Hybrid working conditions

Salary: �35,000 - �55,000

We are pleased to represent our client, a well-respected specialist in designing, manufacturing and installing structural steelwork to the transmission and distribution market throughout the UK. They offer professional design, fabrication, installation and project management services from concept to completion. This includes installation of the substation structures, the electrical equipment, busbars and clamps, and above and below-ground earthing.

Due to continued growth and a very full order book, they now require an experienced Estimator.
The successful applicant will work closely with and report directly to, the Managing Director.

Duties:

• The successful applicant will take off all steel from architects and engineers drawings alike as well as from material lists produced from 3D steel drafting systems used internally and by external detailed.
• The successful application will liaise with other internal departments as well as external third parties such as architects and engineers when required.
• You will also be involved in helping to order and process orders for the steel work / metalwork and associated materials, so the role does have a good variety of work to it.
• Carry out variation analysis to ensure all extra costs can be substantiated back to the client

Requirements:

• Must have experience of estimating structural Steel
• The ability to work under pressure to meet set goals, budgets and deadlines
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet or estimating software
• The ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates
• The ability to manage time well and multitask
• Strong understanding of construction & fabrication processes
• Analytical skills
• Attention to detail
