Job Title: Estimator - Groundworks

Overview:
My client is in search of a proficient individual to fill the position of Estimator, entrusted with supervising the entirety of the estimating and tendering procedures within the division.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all facets of estimating and tendering for Groundworks and Civil Engineering undertakings, primarily within the Housing/Commercial and Industrial sectors.
- Manage projects from the tender stage through to completion and final accounts.
- Accurately measure and evaluate work.
- Efficiently allocate labour, equipment, and procure materials.
- Maintain oversight of procurement and labour, including subcontractors, ensuring professionalism and cost-effectiveness.
- Serve as a pivotal link between the production team and clients, communicating project specifics and requirements.
- Collaborate with client commercial teams and attend site meetings as required.
- Compile and assess subcontract enquiries and quotations.
- Identify and manage contract variations.
- Prepare and submit project invoices and final accounts.
- Foster and nurture relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Actively pursue new tender opportunities as part of business development endeavours.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in quantity surveying and estimating for Groundworks and Civil Engineering projects, particularly within large-scale Housing developments.
- A collaborative approach to project delivery, emphasizing safety, timeliness, and adherence to budget.
- Mastery of various contract forms, notably the JCT contract range.
- Familiarity with estimating software and documentation such as Excel, Adobe, and Bluebeam.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail in commercial documentation.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
- Capability to address external and internal demands promptly.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen.
