Estimator (Civils)

Hays Civil Engineering are delighted to be working alongside this National Civil Engineering Contractor in supporting their recruitment for an Estimator to join their team

Reporting into the Commercial Director you will be joining their experienced Estimating team, and tasked to support the Estimating function of pricing and winning contracts for the business

You'll be working on a tender portfolio of projects ranging in value from �1m to �10m, with ad-hoc schemes higher than this. It'll be a mix of individual tenders and frameworks bids, and you'll be targeted with adding value in winning tenders to support the growth of the business

As an experienced Estimator, you will have experience pricing from first principles and also take-offs. You will be methodical, have a high attention to detail, precise and strict in terms of working to deadlines
You will be working on multiple projects at any one time, so you must have the ability to multi-task from project to project

Projects include: Heavy Civils. Earthworks, Infrastructure, RC, Substations & Utilities

You must be proficient using Estimating software, MS Office applications incl MSP and also P6

If you're not an experienced Estimator, we will also be keen to speak with candidates from a Project Management (Heavy Civils) background, who are looking to move their career into an Estimating role. If this is you, you must have a demonstrable experience of Civils project delivery, also worked on pricing schemes and bids from time to time, and must be passionate about taking that step into full-time Estimating
