Estimator – House Builder

We are seeking an Estimator to join a successful housing developer based near Wakefield, West Yorkshire. In its 10 year the business is going through some exciting expansion plans during 2024.



The company is involved in developments of up to 400 homes on sites throughout our region.



The role:




  • Assist in the appraisal of new land opportunities.

  • Carry out detailed take-offs to abstract into land appraisals and cost plans.

    Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects, including materials, Labour, and plant.

  • Review project specifications and understand project requirements.

  • Collaborate with other members of the team including Land Managers, Technical, and Design to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.

  • Issue enquiries to the supply chain and obtain competitive tenders for subcontract and material supplies.

  • Maintain and update cost databases.

  • Assist in preparing bid proposals and other documentation required for project bids.

  • Support senior estimators and the commercial function generally with tasks as required.




Requirements:




  • Bachelor's degree or BTEC Diploma, or currently studying towards in construction related qualification.

  • Previous experience in New Build housing preferred but not essential.

  • Proficient in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with internal and external Eagerness to learn and develop skills in estimating and construction management.



This opportunity comes with a salary to �50k depending on experience + car allowance + benefits package.
