We are currently working with an incredibly established name in structural steel, renowned for engineering excellence and involvement in prestigious building projects across the UK and beyond. With a commitment to innovation and quality, they deliver outstanding results for their clients, spanning various sectors including sports stadia, bridges, national infrastructure, and urban development projects. As an Estimating Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the estimation team in preparing competitive tenders and estimates for large and complex building projects. You will lead a small team of estimators, manage their workloads, and ensure clarity on tenders. Projects will be vast within structural steel/infrastructure, including Railway electrification structures, OLE structures, Specialist steel works, Refurbishments, temporary works, and pilings. On offer is a salary between £55,000 - £75,000 and a fantastic benefits including 25 days annual leave + Bank holidays, enhanced employer contribution pension, Private Medical Insurance & various other employee rewards schemes.The successful Estimating Manager will be responsible for:Prepare competitive tenders and estimates for a range of building projects, considering various factors.Lead tender adjudication processes, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to provide cost-effective tender information.Participate in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations.Maintain and foster relationships internally and externally within the wider construction market.Review contract terms and conditions, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company policies.Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders. The successful Estimating Manager will have:10+ years' experience in estimating/quantity surveying, preferably within the structural steel industry.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam (desirable), Microsoft PowerPoint, and Asta PowerProject/MS Project.Strong communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science, along with a HNC in construction or a relevant commercial qualification.Sound understanding of health and safety policies and procedures.Hours of Work: 07:45 - 17:00 Monday - Thursday, 08:00 - 13:00 Friday
