💲 Salary/Rate: £50- £ 63per hr (inside IR35)
📍 Location: Hybrid - London or Birmingham (up to 3 days per week)
⏱️ Contract Duration: 6-12 months

An Estimating Manager with quantity surveying skill and understanding of the construction industry is required by a consultancy working with some of the biggest government, infrastructure, defence, and security projects in the UK.

This Estimating Manager role is hybrid based between working up to 3 days per week on site and the remainder of the week working remotely. Office locations include London or Birmingham, as preferred.

The Commercial Manager role will be a 6-12-month contract, paying between £50- £63 per hr inside IR35.

Security Clearance: Security Check (SC Clearance)

This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Role Profile/Responsibilities:

• Membership of the RICS, ACostE, ICES or similar professional association and degree or equivalent experience or achieved NVQ Level 4 in Project Controls
• Chartered Status or in the process of achieving Chartered Status
• Experience in high value, complex type construction or infrastructure Estimating programmes
• Experience of leading and managing teams within the estimating process and facilitate communication with stakeholders on a range of Estimating issues
• Proficient at developing, understanding and quantifying work scope to develop first principals Cost Estimates
• Skilled at converting estimates into budgets for control purposes, as well as monitoring and evaluating the implementation of risk, opportunity and uncertainty control measures
• Ability to develop an analysis of external influencing factors such as inflation and market trends, both nationally and internationally
• Ability to interpret regulations and industry codes / standards affecting complex high value estimates
• Ability to understand cost drivers and their effect on the overall CWLC of a project
• Experience of managing the performance of others in the development of all discipline activities on projects or programmes of high value and complexity.
• Ensure Cost Management principles and processes are aligned with Risk Management, establishing contingency requirements within the overall budget envelope
• Undertake reviews of Cost Estimates, which will include challenging proposals using cost benchmarks and norms within the review process
• Develop overall Cost baselines, monitoring progress and taking corrective action in the management of Cost
