Estates Manager MRICS Commercial Property and Asset Management Team LeaderLocal Govenment, excellent benefits, flexibility, annual leave and pensionAbout Our ClientBroxtowe Borough Council serves Beeston Stapleford, Kimberley and Eastwood and surrounding areas, and has a diverse property portfolio of around 300 properties that ranges from operational assets and community facilities to leisure centres and high street retail premises - including a recently completed 8 screen cinema with a range of independent restaurants. It has been successful in securing grants from the Towns Fund and levelling-up initiatives delivering new properties that will need to be proactively managed post-completion.Job DescriptionAs MRICS Estates Manager, you will undertake hands on proactive management of the commercial estate, including a wide range of landlord and tenant, property management, asset valuation programme management, and developing and implementing asset strategies and policies.You will lead a team of 5 members of staff who work together comprising Estates and Maintenance professionals and inspire and motivate them to achieve their full personal & professional potential.You will be a key member of the Asset Management Division, providing professional advice across the Council.You will make improvements to financial, economic and social benefits from the Council's assets whilst ensuring that operational departments have the most economical & efficient real estate resources from which to deliver first-rate services to their stakeholders.You will be able to identify opportunities for improvement across the estate and prioritise interventions, including initiatives to hasten the Council's journey towards carbon neutrality.Experience with project and caseload management, implementing best practice and policies and procedures with asset strategies, instructing valuations and providing commercial advice, and preparing accurate professional reports would be advantageous in this role.The Successful ApplicantMRICS accredited with expertise in commercial property management, valuation, asset management or related disciplineAble to work under pressure and with constantly changing prioritiesHave strong communication skills, both verbally and writtenOpen and engaging in dealings with colleagues, supply chain members, and stakeholders including Senior Officers and elected MembersModel and promote behaviours consistent with Broxtowe's valuesAble to carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by your line managerWhilst experience of working in the public sector would be an advantage, this is not essential.What's on OfferThe Estates Manager role is paid at a Grade 14 between £47,159 (SCP 66) and £48,605 (SCP 69).A significant benefits package is available, including but not limited to:31 days annual leave, increasing to 34 days after 5 years local government continuous service and 36 days after 10 years Broxtowe Borough Council continuous serviceNottinghamshire Pension Fund - employees are able to join the Nottinghamshire Pension Fund, a secure pension scheme with plenty of options to suit you.Employee Awards - we run an annual employee awards scheme to recognise the contributions and hard work of Council Officers.Long Service Awards - we recognise loyalty, dedication and hard work and regularly celebrate the contribution made by those who have completed 25 years of service.Training and Development - we invest in our employees to help them develop and progress with a range of corporate and job specific training available.Professional fees - Compensation of a professional membership annually that is expressed as a requirement for the role.Family friendly policies - we have a wide range of family friendly policies to help employees balance their working lives with family responsibilities.Wellbeing support - the Council offers a 24/7, 365 day Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), flu vaccination programme and Eye Care VouchersEmployee parkingMileage paymentsHybrid working (subject to service delivery requirements) Michael Page is part of the PageGroup.
