About The Role
What is the role?
As Estates and Planning Manager you will be responsible for managing the company's existing estate and land asset portfolio. Taking ownership of the management of the existing lease agreements, licenses, easements and wayleaves, and any future estate/land agreements. Alongside the development of planning applications in connection with the company's strategic growth opportunities within the decarbonization plans.
This role will report to the Senior Business Development and Estate Manager providing strategic planning, development, and management of land and properties necessary for waste-to-energy facilities and new carbon master plan.
Estates Management will include the negotiation and management of third-party agreements, including the assessment and management of the rates payable for the EfW fleet and associated properties, and managing the compliance to all contractual agreements.
Planning Management will include the coordination of new planning applications for development projects, and the variation to existing planning permissions to ensure the organisation can meet the strategic objectives. This will also include the discharge of planning conditions and submission of required schemes to the Planning Authority and management of ongoing consent for compliance to the planning consents.
What will you be doing?
Please see below a brief overview of the role and responsibilities
Prepare regular reports and presentations to the Senior Management teams, including Executive Committee and relevant Project Steering Committees on the status of the existing landholdings and development projects.
Identify risks and opportunities with the existing estate assets relating to property agreements and landholdings, and planning applications for development projects.
Compiling and management of Estates terrier system
Understand relevant market trends and conditions affecting land values and development opportunities.
Liaison with the Environmental Agency, National Resource Wales and Environmental Services Association
Internal and External Stakeholder engagement and negotiation
Working closely with the operational and construction teams to facilitate compliance and variations
Desirable Qualifications and experience
Chartered Surveyor
Experience and strong understanding of Landlord and tenant lease agreements
Experience in the waste to energy industry is beneficial but not essential
Strong experience in land management, estate development, or related field.
Strong knowledge of property management principles, practices, and regulations.
Strong understanding of the Planning regime
