Environmental Sustainability Engineer

I have a very interesting opportunity for an Environmental Sustainability Engineer to join a leading Aerospace & Defence organisation.The role is based out of Warton, Preston and is hybrid working of 2-3 days per week onsite.You MUST be eligible for SC Clearance to be considered for this role.What you'll be doing:Working with the Product teams, suppliers and customers to achieve our ambition to deliver more sustainable products without compromising performance by;Setting the processes and capabilities to produce the product artefactsEnvironmental legislation and regulation impact assessmentEnvironmental strategy and early lifecycle development constraints/rulesProduct Environmental analysisIdentification of opportunities to reduce environmental impactIdentification of product sustainability risk (materials, obsolescence)Life Cycle AssessmentClimate Impact assessment (GHG, carbon foot printing)Sustainability assessmentsEnvironmental justifications/ case statementsCapability assets (process, training, toolsets)Regulatory inputsYou'll also have people manager responsibilities in this role.Essential Skills & ExperienceRelevant engineering experience (STEM degree or equivalent Environmental qualifications)Process Development experienceProduct Environmental and/or Product Sustainability knowledgeDesirable Skills & ExperienceIEng or CEng with Institute of Environmental Management and AssessmentPeople management experienceUnderstanding of REACH legislationThis is perfect for someone that has done this kind of role before in another Aerospace & Defence organisation or a company/industry that has put Environmental Sustainability at the forefront of their business.JAM Recruitment Ltd is acting as an employment agent with regards to this position.
