Environmental Specialist - Permanent Staff - Chemical Manufacturing - Yorkshire
Our client is one of the world's heavyweights in chemical manufacturing. Their Yorkshire site is well established, employs over 300 people and is renowned for its robust 'no cut corners' approach to heath & safety.
Within the HSE team, a vacancy has now emerged for an Environmental Specialist. You task be essential - to be the focus point for environmental compliance and best practice on site.�
Specifically, you will:
�-�Manage environmental management programme and the environmental management system.

�- Be subject matter expert for environmental legislation and environmental standards.

�-�Take ownership of the company Waste Management contract.

�-�Support assurance processes and self-verification systems on site.

�-�Manage waste minimisation plan for the site,

�-�Manage the greenhouse gas emissions permit under the environmental trading scheme (ETS) and coordinate the relevant information for verification.

�- Coordinate various areas under�ISO-#####

�-� Be responsible for ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and lead for internal environmental audits. Duty includes reporting and updating the BSI Auditor of any EA notifications.

�- Develop the environmental strategy & the forward agenda for sustaining environmental performance.

�-�Champion environmental improvements via the Asset plan and Capex programs,

�-�Assist in the creation and management of the Carbon Plan,

�-�Lead greenhouse gas emissions and energy management for the site.�

�-�Manage the site environmental permit and prepare any correspondence to the regulator or applications for variations that may be required and reporting of any permit breaches.
