Yolk Recruitment is partnered with a niche manufacturer in the recruitment of an Environmental Manager to join a growing operation. The business provides an essential specialist service to a high-profile customer base across the medical sector and offers an exciting career in a secure sector, with the opportunity to make a significant impact and growth.
This is what you'll be doing as Environmental Manager:

  • Liaise with enforcement agencies and other interested parties where applicable
  • In line with the company goals and targets develop Environmental action plans for departments and support managers.
  • Undertake frequent workplace inspections to identify discrepancies and implement actions to correct
  • Ensure that all employees are trained to relevant Environmental activities for their level
  • Identify applicable Environmental regulations and evaluate impacts to the facility.
  • Undertake internal environmental management system audits.
  • Monitor Environmental performance and recommend priorities and actions for improvement.
  • Compilation of procedures to assure continuing compliance with standards and legislation
  • Communicate Environmental matters at all levels of the business
  • Host annual certified body ISO 14001 audits
  • Log environmental incidents and support management to ensure personal and environmental incidents are investigated thoroughly to establish and implement actions to prevent recurrence
  • Co-ordinate with relevant managers the implementation of appropriate actions with clearly communicated tasks, agreed timescales and the required standard/outcome to achieve compliance in the environment, sustainability and climate change.
  • Deliver Environmental training as appropriate to various levels of the business to raise awareness and reduce incidents to ensure competency throughout the organisation.
  • Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc workplace / audits to drive improvements and ensure processes are being followed.
  • Audit the environmental management system to the ISO 14001 internal audit schedule
  • Integrate Environmental processes across all sites


The experience you will bring Environmental Manager:

  • Proven experience in an environmental or similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven environmental experience, including waste management, packaging producer responsibility reporting, sustainability, carbon footprint assessment, carbon reduction and climate change.
  • Internal Audit training to ISO 14001
  • Experience in maintaining environmental management systems certified to ISO 14001
  • Ability to work as a team member and able to influence others
  • PC literate and able to present information coherently and accurately
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write comprehensive reports.
