If so, we are currently looking for an Environmental Manager. This role is home based with regular travel to project site locations across England.
Outline of the role
As an Environmental Manager you will contribute to implementing and monitoring the environmental policies and arrangements. This will involve supporting and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, auditing, monitoring and measuring environmental performance, assisting with environmental reports, sharing best practice and coordinating activities within the SHE Team.
As an Environmental Manager you will be responsible for:
Prepare Construction Environmental Management plans
Plan and conduct regular audits of locations / projects environmental practices and documentation
Assist and coordinate the external audit programme
Support and assist with incident investigations and reporting to ensure company operating procedures are implemented
Lead environmental agenda to ensure guidance and support is in place for project teams in relation to regulatory and client specific requirements
Support and guide project teams with regards permitting and consent requirements
Assist the implementation of a Farrans-wide consistent management approach to SHE requirements
Support and guide Farrans’ management with a positive solutions-based approach to addressing challenges in environmental performance
Keep up to date with legislative changes, maintain a legal register and ensure they are integrated into the Company’s environmental management system
Required Skills and Experience
Strong previous experience working in a construction environmental role
Proficient user of the complete MS Office Suite, in addition to using online project document management portals (such as Deltek PIM FOCAL, Aconex etc)
Effective working knowledge of: environmental legislation and consenting; permitting processes; BREEAM / CEEQUAL requirements on projects; issues such as noise, water management, ecology and waste management; multiple stakeholders and project locations; planning, implementing and operating SHEQ management standards and processes
