As an equal opportunity employer, we welcome applications from candidates of all abilities and backgrounds.Your Role:Main responsibilities:Line management responsibility for the Environmental Lead and Environmental Apprentice.Coordinate and manage consultants retained by ACCIONA to address environmental matters on a variety of specialisms.The Environmental Manager is a key role with regards to Collaboration with the Client and partners on environmental topics.Developing, implementing, and maintaining a ISO14001 certified EMS and CEMP.Auditing the EMS at regular intervals (and as a minimum every 6 months) and reporting the findings of such audit to the Contractor and the Purchaser.Developing and providing environmental training, identifying, and reviewing training for the Contractor’s Site team.Managing all environmental specialists, ensuring they are appropriately qualified and suitably experienced.Approving the environmental parts of the Contractor’s method statements.Subject to complying with Sub-clause 23.4A of the Conditions of Contract, ensuring an appropriate and competent individual is nominated to liaise with Statutory Bodies, including the Environment Agency, Natural England, Historic England, and the Canal & River Trust.Managing environmental incidents and complaints processes to identify trends and to identify root causes, corrective and preventative actions needed.Managing environmental monitoring and reporting.Undertaking audits of the Contractor and Subcontractors against legal and contractual requirements provided that it is independent of the activity being audited.Managing programme of environmental audits and Site inspections.Producing report/ information for the environmental part of the monthly progress report.Inputting into the Consents programme and preparing environmental Consent applications.Liaising with the Project Manager on all matters relating to environmental management.Required Skills and CompetenciesWhat we are looking:Membership in the IEMA or organisation of similar standing is essential.You must have experience mentioned under the main responsibilities above.Ideally, working in the construction EPC or waste management industry, as you will be a member of the Principal Contractor’s team.As a company that values diversity as a source of talent, we work to foster an inclusive environment that promotes respect, belonging and engagement so that all people can participate on an equal opportunity basis.
