What you will be doing
In this role, you will manage and maintain the UK environmental management system (EMS) & quality management system (QMS) across all UK locations to ensure continued certification to ISO and ISO and to manage EMS & QMS related risks within the UK remit.
Ensuring that Ricoh UK is reporting relevant environmental data to both internal and external stakeholders, using such data to identify carbon hotspots and implement relevant carbon reduction initiatives.
Champion, coordinate and promote Environmental and Quality Management throughout the UK (to include ISO EMS, waste management, energy/carbon management) to enhance the UK Sustainability performance and raise profile and awareness of Environmental and Quality Management amongst UK employees, customers and stakeholders.
Maintain and develop Environmental and Quality Management Systems across the UK, working with local management to ensure continued certification including leading internal and external audits.
Contribute towards the integration of ISO EMS with the Integrated Certification/Integrated Management System (IMS) programme and combined audit schedule.
Develop, maintain, implement and support procedures and measures to ensure compliance with all applicable Environmental legislation.
To provide advice and support to all departments and customers regarding environmental management processes (e.g. toner cartridge recycling programmes, carbon management, carbon reduction initiatives, etc.) to ensure that Ricoh UK, and customers environmental responsibilities are fulfilled.
To work proactively with Ricoh Europe to ensure alignment with regional and global processes including best practice sharing with colleagues across the EMEA region.
Support and contribute to the wider ESG activities including those within the Community Investment arena.
Both lead ESG/Risk & Compliance projects and work as a team member on such projects as appropriate.
Contribute to bid/tender submissions where required and for awards/accreditations externally where applicable (e.g. Responsible Business Tracker) and internally within RFG (global & EMEA region).
Work proactively with external consultants and support the wider ESG team in collecting data from across the business to help satisfy the yearly renewal of our Carbon Reduction Plan.
Ensure all reporting to external bodies is done accurately and on time.
You will ideally have
Previous experience in the implementation and maintenance of a certified ISO EMS and Quality MS.
Understanding of UK Environmental legislation and how it applies to business.
Experience of coordinating Sustainability and Environmental activities.
Excellent communication & presentation skills, both written & oral.
Ability to present and influence at senior management level.
Numerate / business background with a high level of computer literacy and report writing skills.
Ability to collate and analyse data to produce clear recommendations for management action.
Agile, able to adapt the EMS to a dynamic fast-changing organization.
