Environmental Manager

We have a great opportunity for a Environmental Manager to join our team to work on the M3 Junction 9
Highways project in Winchester and also the M27 Junction 10 Project in Fareham, Hampshire.
About you
The candidate must have an environment or science-related degree or equivalent and be a Full Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). The candidate will be a Chartered Environmentalist or be capable of attaining it within 12 months of appointment. The candidate will have significant experience in a similar role on major construction projects.
The candidate shall ideally have the following experience/skill set:
Development, implementation and assurance of project specific environmental management plans with a particular focus on noise and vibration, biodiversity, carbon, waste and pollution prevention.
Experience of determining the need for, application of and compliance with environmental consents is essential, including liaising with regulatory authorities and clients.
Working knowledge of rail infrastructure environmental and social contract requirements, standards and guidance would be advantageous, in addition to detailed knowledge of UK environmental legislation.
Lead ISO 14001 auditor, with practical experience of its effective implementation.
Hold a Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement.
Excellent communication and organisational skills to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams and hold autonomy to advise on compliance with client standards and legislation.
Ability to produce contract statistical environmental information and undertake environmental audits to ensure where necessary corrective plans are successfully developed and implemented.If your past experience doesn't match perfectly with every requirement of the job description, we still encourage you to apply.
