Environmental Manager

Astute's Power team is partnering with a successful Principal Contractor in the Energy from Waste sector to recruit an Environmental Manager on a 12 months minimum contract for its London site.
The Environmental Manager role comes with a competitive day rate.

Key skills
* The Environmental Manager is a key role with regards to Collaboration with the Client and partners on environmental topics.
* Ensure project members charged with environmental Responsibilities receive appropriate training to perform their duties.
* Arrange and conduct regular internal reviews of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and any sub-plans, ensuring they are amended where there has been a variation to design or scope of works and communicating requirements to relevant personnel.
* Distribute industrial/environmental alerts and circulars in relation to any environmental incidents on the Project.
* Report monthly on relevant environmental statistics, project information and operational control performance.
* Provides guidance to management, workers, and Subcontractors to enable them to comply with legislative/Contract requirements.
* Review environmental documentation (including Subcontractors), using relevant checklists to ensure it meets any legal or contractual requirements, is site specific and reflects Works requirements.
* Schedules and executes inspections and audits (including Subcontractors), attending internal or external environmental audits at site.
* Open, manage and monitor environmental non-conformances, seeking early resolution with relevant discipline leads.
* Must have experience mentioned under the main responsibilities above.
* Ideally, experience working in the construction EPC or waste management industry, as you will be a member of the Principal Contractor's team.
