Environmental, Health and Safety Officer

Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a high hazard industry with chemicals and COMAH.
• NEBOSH certificate essential, NEBOSH diploma preferred.
• Knowledge of current HSE legislation/regulation.
Responsibilities:
Report into the Safety, Health and Environmental Manager.
Assist in developing risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Maintain the sites environmental management system and compile reports aligned to Environmental Permit requirements.
Establish and maintain SHE inspection and auditing programmes.
Support the development and delivery of Site Safety Meetings and other Safety communications.
Write, review, and implement suitable health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Advise, coach, and mentor employees.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, issuing reports and ensuring SHE Incident log is up to date.
Support the delivery of SHE training and manage the competency matrix.
Maintain competent authority communication logs and complete reports for the competent authority.
Ensure emergency preparedness aligned with the sites COMAH Emergency Plan.
Conduct fire risk assessments.
