Role: Environmental, Health and Safety Manager

Salary - Circa £52k (DOE)

Location: Wakefield Area

Industry: FMCG Manufacturing

Reporting into the Group Health and Safety Manager, an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for training and mentoring onsite employees on the importance of Health and Safety onsite, whilst working alongside the Group HSE Manager in the design and implementation of new continuous improvement strategies and various improvement programmes to ensure the Health and Safety function is constantly expanding and growing.

Responsibilities of an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager:


  • Maintaining a high level of knowledge and expertise in all areas of Compliance in order to provide appropriate advice and support.
  • To provide H&S management reporting to agreed deadlines.
  • Providing managers and employees with information on legislative and corporate compliance, advising on ways of meeting statutory requirements and Corporate HS&E Policies, HSE guidance and codes of practice
  • To ensure that risk assessments/safe systems of work requirements are met.
  • Proactively work with other areas of the business to develop SHE culture.
  • Conduct monthly safety audits, behavioural observations, and quarterly safety inspections.

Successful Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will have:


  • Previous Experience working within a Manufacturing environment.
  • Previous track record in Health and Safety management
  • NEBOSH Diploma qualified or in progress
  • Experience in HSE management process.
  • Ability to problem solve and think outside of the box.
