Are you an experienced internal auditor? Do you consider yourself to be experienced and knowledgeable around current environmental legislation? Are you based in or around Hartlepool?We have an Environmental Engineer role available within TATA Steel's Hartlepool site. This role is ideal for someone with internal auditing experience, strong ISO14001 and ISO 15001 knowledge and is a strong communicator. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of environmental requirements in order to comply with legal compliance. Role: Environmental EngineerLocation: TATA Steel, Hartlepool Works, Brenda Rd, Hartlepool TS25 2EGRate: £20.28ph (annual salary £38,500)Contract length: 6 months (maternity cover)Shift Patterns: 36.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 08:00-16:30, 08:30-17:00 or 07:00-15:30 (flexible)Start: October 2024 Essential requirements:Technical, Production or Engineering qualificationInternal auditing experienceInternal auditing qualificationGood knowledge and experience of ISO14001 and ISO50001 3+ years exp in Steel industryKnowledge of energy analysis techniquesEnvironmental legislation and systems experience Strong verbal and written communicationIT literacy especially with MS Office and Share pointDesirable requirements:Driving licence and use of a car Responsibilities:Ensuring the efficient management of requirements needed to ensure that site is in full compliance with all relevant environmental legislationAdvising and directing production and associated personnel on site in environmental, energy, sustainability and decarbonisation topics associated with their day to day activitiesEnsuring all environmental, energy, sustainability and decarbonisation standards are implemented and adhered toEnsuring that the Environmental Management System and the Energy Management System are effectiveReviewing environmental and energy legal complianceEnsuring senior management are aware of any environmental or energy issues Helping in the implementation of the site Environmental and Energy Improvement Plans and Sustainability Commitment And Decarbonisation road to net zeroInforming personnel of new Environmental and Energy Legislation to prevent any non-compliances Liaising with customers, contractors, all external authorities and third party stakeholders Collating trend and reporting monitoring of discharges from siteControl of the site waste management systemProgressing environmental, energy, sustainability and decarbonisation training of site personnelCarrying out internal audits of the 20" Mill Environmental Management System And Energy Management SystemSupervising of Environmental Student based on siteWorking to obtain/ maintain standards including ISO14001, ISO50001, BES6001Benefits:Advice and editing on your current CVDedicated team throughout your journey within the rolePaid holidayExclusive online services including restaurant and retail discountsChance to receive £300* for referring a friendOpportunity for progression into permanent roles Competitive rates of pay All applicants are subject to vetting checks including but not limited to: Right to work check, DBS check and reference check.
